Following the star…

In the Christmas season, Jackson UMC offers a number of opportunities to hear and experience the Christmas miracle in our contemporary context. We believe that Jesus was born in Bethlehem over 2000 years ago, yet is alive and present in our lives even today.

If you want to follow the star to amazement and Christmas miracles this year, here are some suggestions:

  • Prayer – Create a Christmas Prayer Journal and take 10 minutes a day to write down your thoughts or prayers.
  • Reading Bible – Find your favorite chair in the house, sit, and read the Gospel of Matthew or Luke for 15 minutes a day.
  • Worship – Commit for going to worship every Sunday from Thanksgiving to Christmas (and beyond).
  • Give – Tithe for the season of Advent (4 weeks from November 29-December 21). A tithe is a Biblical principle in which God’s people would bring their 1st and best 10% of income to the local church.
  • Get Involved – See what we are doing and get involved in a group, ministry, committee, or mission.

In the box below, tell us what your committed to this Christmas season! Merry Christmas!
