Outreach and Missions
Our mission is to do as much good as we can. We reach out to those in need through various programs. Our congregation collects food donations for the Jackson Food Pantry. This ongoing collection helps the food pantry continue to meet the needs of those in our community in need of food.
We also participate in the UMCOR Blankets Program which responds to disasters nationally and internationally.
Anchor House Inc., New Jersey
Anchor House is a non-profit organization. The mission of Anchor House is to provide a safe haven where abused, neglected, runaway, homeless, aging out, and at-risk youth are helped to succeed and thrive. Anchor House was founded in 1978 to move runaway and homeless youth off the streets of Trenton and reunite them with their families. Today Anchor House Inc. provides shelter, school outreach, traditional and supportive housing and street outreach to youths 12 to 21 yrs. of age from Mercer County and throughout the state of New Jersey.
Jackson Church supports their efforts with an annual coat drive in October- November. At Christmas their children are always on our Giving Tree where we provide gifts and items on their wish list.
Current Outreach and Mission Projects
Family Emergency Food Basket
We like to keep an emergency food basket at the church in case of need. Right now we need canned fruit, canned juices, peanut butter, tuna,
spaghetti sauce, rice and paper goods. These items will complete the food basket for the present time.
Some of our outreach projects include:
• Jackson Food Pantry
• Angel’s Wings Child Shelter
